Over on our Discord, Mia and Andrea have been working diligently on the Tarot Deck and Guidebook, so I wanted to show off their progress. If you want to join in on the card development / art streams, there is a link in a previous backers-only post.
The next card Mia and Andrea plan to tackle will be our first Minor Arcana, likely the 8 of Rings. We hope this will give backers a sense of what the rest of the deck might look like.
I'll be working simultaneously on the first bonusMajor Arcana card, Factions. The Gaian Guardians will represent Justice. The Gaian Guardians are fanatical eco-preservationists and make an awesome ally for a first-time coven!

During The Awakened Age a shift took place as covens shared their family knowledge and craft with one another. During The Twilight Age, as it is in Midnight, your Grimoire is best described as an archetypal magical calling.

This has been an overwhelming ride for us. We knew that our game would speak to people, but we had no idea whether it would translate to "success on Kickstarter". We are so glad to see that it has, and so quickly!

One backer asked, "Can any tarot deck be used for this game?" and we wanted to share our answer here:
Yes, any tarot deck (or none at all) can be used for the game. We have been playtesting Witches of Midnight for over 2 years and during that time we have used the Modern Witch tarot and the Necronomicon tarot extensively and many other decks for a session or two each. That said, there are a few game elements that integrate our custom tarot deck specifically.
1.) Easily pick a Grimoire from the Major Arcana
2.) Easily pick a Familiar from the Minor Arcana
3.) Easily pick a Faction from a second set of Major Arcana (included)
4.) Characters gain a new Aspect-based xp trigger detailed in the tarot guide book
5.) Characters gain a permanent bonus for each "journey around the Major Arcana"
We are so excited to see that so many of you are choosing the Awakened and Ascended Tiers, the tarot deck is a major reason we decided to Kickstart the game, and we think it adds a dimension not seen in other TTRPGs. It will also act as a functional tarot deck and guide book whether you are new to the tarot or very experienced!
